The 2015 "ED's" Adult Nightclub & Exotic Dancer Awards Final Ballot
ED Publications is proud to reveal its nominees for the 2015 ED’s Adult Nightclub & Exotic Dancer Awards Show. The 2015 Awards Show will be held on Tuesday, August 25th, at the historic Civic Theatre in New Orleans. Sponsored by Anheuser-Busch, the ED Awards Show is being held for its 18th consecutive year and has been the premier event of the Annual Gentlemen’s Club EXPO for nearly two decades. The ED Awards Show celebrates the best of the best in the multi-billion-dollar adult nightclub industry, and is still this industry’s only national awards show.
ED Award nominees were gathered in large part from the “pre-nominations” voting process (where voters were allowed to suggest potential club, entertainer and staff award nominees), held exclusively here at www.theEDawards.com, in May/June 2015. The Final Awards Ballot will be featured online only, also at www.theEDawards.com, from July 3rd through July 20th.
The most prestigious club award category, of course, is the “Overall Gentlemen’s Club of the Year” Award. This year, as with past years, eight clubs have been nominated in this category (clubs in this category have either previously won the award in their region or have received multiple award nominations): Blush Gentlemen’s Club in Pittsburgh; Cheetah in Atlanta; Dames n’ Games in Los Angeles; Deja Vu Showgirls in Nashville; Gold Club in San Francisco; Penthouse Club in St. Louis (E. St. Louis, IL); Scores in Baltimore; and Tootsie’s Cabaret in Miami.
Club award categories are separated into four regions: East, South, Central and West (please see accompanying map). There are also two categories in each region: Club of the Year, and “Small” Club of the Year (for clubs either under 5,000 square feet, or those clubs located in “smaller” markets).
The most prestigious entertainer award category is "Overall Feature Entertainer of the Year," and the following four entertainers are nominated for this award (and will perform during the ED Awards Show): Angela Sommers, Christina Aguchi, Justice and Roxi D’Lite. Christina and Justice received automatic nominations after winning the 2015 EDI (EXOTIC DANCER Invitational) East and West contests respectively. Angela won the EDI West Showgirl Division in 2015 and EDI West Newcomer Division in 2014, while also winning ED’s Newcomer of the Year Award in ’14. Roxi was a 2014 nominee for ED’s Entertainer of the Year Award and winner of the EDI East contest in 2014. Reigning ED’s Entertainer of the Year, Lacey Rain, will be on hand to present the award to the new Overall Entertainer of the Year (note: the reigning Entertainer of the Year is not eligible to be nominated for the same award the following year).
New for 2015! For the first time ever, the ED’s will include the “International Club of the Year” Award. “In recent years we have had adult nightclub owners from Canada, Mexico, Panama, Europe and Australia attend the EXPO,” says ED Publications’ Publisher Don Waitt. “In recognition of the huge adult nightclub market outside of the U.S., we have added an International Club of the Year category to the Annual ED Awards Show.”
There are also three club staff award categories, including General Manager of the Year, Employee of the Year and DJ of the Year. The majority of the club awards, as well as the General Manager of the Year Award, will be presented during the main ED Awards Show at the Civic Theatre. Please note: The “Feature” Club of the Year Award (for clubs that frequently book feature entertainers), Employee of the Year Award, DJ of the Year Award and International Club of the Year Award will be among a handful of ED Awards that will be presented during the Pre-ED Awards Reception, held during the Opening Night Pub Crawl at the Penthouse Club on Monday, August 24th, beginning at 8:30 pm.
Please note: Those who won ED's Entertainer Awards in 2014 in the following categories are not eligible to be nominated for or win the same award the following year
Use this map to determine how we divided the clubs into regions.
Each region has two voting categories, one for large clubs and one for small clubs.
A small club is defined as a club under 5000 sq ft.
